Ch. 16 - Advertising, Public Relations and Sales Promotion

I noticed that Honda's advertising techniques were common in the car company field such as advertising with highway billboards or normal commercials on TV but the new advertising scheme Honda has been using was commercials on Internet videos like YouTube. They've also had a big impact on advertising on magazines and newspapers. They've also marketed the Hispanic demographic as well, as its inexpensive fuel efficient vehicles have been advertised a lot in Spanish television and spanish magazines. This years advertising campaign was to introduce the all new Honda odyssey and with the likes of Neil Patrick Harris and Rainn Wilson lending their voices to the commercial they're slogan for this advertising campaign has been "Start Something Special" they also had the likes of popular mobile applications Angry Birds to help.

Ch : 15 - Retailing

My local Honda dealership was just around the corner from where I lived which was actually the dealership called paragon Honda located on northern blvd In woodside,queens. The first thing I noticed when I went in is how many cars there actually was even in the showrooms and everything. Then there was a gentleman by the name of Robert wearing a suit asking if I needed help. I just pretty much told him how I'm in college and told him all about the blog he gladly let me take my time to look around. Later on I noticed him talking to a family of 4 trying to convince them to buy the Honda odyssey and also noticed that he was speaking fluent Spanish. That is great because Woodside is a very diverse neighborhood with a lot of Hispanics living here. Overall I liked my experience at the showroom and will consider getting a test drive on that 2013 Civic Si.

Chapter 5 - Developing a Global Vision

Hondas global vision is to continue producing the highest quality, yet at a reasonable price. The global vision they are aiming for is to expand to wider ranges of the world such as Europe and the Middle East on the top of their lists. They also want to put out the correct vehicles for the correct environments and cultures. Even certain parts of the world are demanded the specific vehicle make such as Europe which is demanding the Hybrid  version of the accord Honda is producing. While in the Middle East it wouldn't make sense to demand the hybrid so they are producing more SUVs for the terrain. As you can see Honda does their homework. They have also continued to sell their lawn mowers and and power generators which are good for the environment.
